Carrington Event

A Carrington Event is a very strong solar storm that releases a lot of energy from the sun. It happens when an especially strong burst of energy (called a coronal mass ejection) erupts from the sun and travels out into space. When this burst of energy reaches Earth, it can cause a lot of problems, like power outages and damage to satellites. A Carrington Event is one of the strongest solar events we can experience and it can have dangerous consequences.
