ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cartesian coordinate robot

A Cartesian coordinate robot is like a big, strong arm that can move around in three different directions. It's kind of like having a giant robot arm that can reach out and touch things, but it's made out of metal and wires.

The robot has 3 different axes, which are like three different directions that it can move in. One axis is for moving back and forth, another is for moving left and right, and the last one is for moving up and down.

Imagine playing with Lego blocks. You can move them in different directions too, like forwards or sideways. But this robot arm can do that in real life!

Some people use Cartesian coordinate robots to help them make things. For example, if you're a baker, you can use the robot arm to help you mix and knead dough. Or if you work in a factory, you can use it to move heavy things around so that you don't have to lift them yourself.

Overall, the Cartesian coordinate robot is really cool because it can move in different directions and help us do things that we might not be able to do on our own.
