Carthage

Carthage was a city a very long time ago, sort of like a big village with lots of houses and people. The city was in Africa, which is on the continent of Earth where we live.

The people who lived in Carthage a long time ago were called Carthaginians. They were very good at trading things, like spices, silver, and even elephants!

Carthage also had a very strong army and they used to fight with a different group of people called the Romans. These fights were called wars and they happened many times over many years.

In the end, the Romans won the last war against Carthage and the city was destroyed. Unfortunately, the people who lived there had to find new places to live.

Today, people can visit the ruins of Carthage and learn about the history of this ancient city.
