Cast stone

Cast stone is like making a pretend rock or brick out of concrete that looks like a real rock or brick. First, we mix some special kind of concrete with water and pour it into a mold, which is like a special container that makes our concrete look like a certain shape.

We let the concrete dry and harden and then we take it out of the mold. It looks like the shape we wanted it to be, but it's still not finished. We then put it in a special machine that roughens up the surface of the concrete, kind of like sandpaper. This makes it look more like a real rock or brick because it has bumps and textures on it.

Finally, we add some special colors to make the cast stone look like a specific type of stone or brick. Now the cast stone looks just like a real one, but it's actually made out of concrete! Cast stone can be used to make decorations on buildings or even whole buildings themselves.
