Castellers de Sydney

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen people make a big tower of people by standing on each other's shoulders? Well, Castellers de Sydney are a group of people who do just that but in a special way!

First, they start with a big group of people standing close together and holding onto each other in a circle. This is called the pinya. Then, a few people climb on top of them and stand on their shoulders. These people are called the folre, and they make the base for the next level of people to stand on.

Next, even more people climb on top of the folre and stand on their shoulders. These people are called the segons, and they make the base for the next level of people to stand on. This keeps going until they reach the top of the tower, which can be more than 10 levels high!

The Castellers de Sydney do this to show off their strength, teamwork, and courage. It's really hard work to balance on top of all those people, but they practice a lot and make it look easy! Plus, they always make sure to be safe and make sure nobody gets hurt.

It's a really cool tradition that started in a place called Catalonia in Spain, but now people all around the world, like in Sydney, do it too! It's a great way to bring people together and show how much we can accomplish when we work together.
