Cathedral of light

So you know how when you turn on a light bulb in a room, the room gets brighter and you can see things better? Well, imagine a really, really big room where the whole ceiling is covered in thousands and thousands of light bulbs. That's kind of what the Cathedral of Light was like.

During a big event called the Nuremberg Rallies in Germany a long time ago, the leader of the country wanted to show off how powerful and important he was. So, he had a giant building made called the Zeppelin Field and he made a special display using all those light bulbs to create the Cathedral of Light.

It was a huge structure that was made up of 130 searchlights and 48 anti-aircraft lights that were pointed up into the sky. They were arranged in rows that went all the way down the Zeppelin Field, which was a big open space.

When they all turned on at the same time, it was super bright and looked really cool! People would stand and watch as the lights changed colors and patterns. It was kind of like a giant light show.

So, the Cathedral of Light was a really big and impressive light display that was created for a special event a long time ago.
