Caudillo

A Caudillo is a type of leader in certain countries, usually military or political. In Spanish, Caudillo means "leader". Caudillos usually come to power by making promises to help people in the country and help them get better lives. They might promise to improve education, make sure everyone has food and clothes, or to create jobs. Usually the Caudillo will be in charge of the government and make all the decisions. Sometimes Caudillos get too much power, and don't always keep their promises.
