Cult of personality

A cult of personality is when somebody becomes very popular, usually by having a lot of people admire them or by being in the public eye. People in a cult of personality tend to be known and admired by many people and sometimes they can become bigger than life. For example, certain celebrities or historical figures such as Elvis or Abraham Lincoln can become larger than life and highly admired. People might deem them to be practically perfect or special in some way. It's like having a bunch of fans celebrating and admiring someone, like a celebrity or a leader.
