ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Center on Conscience & War

The concept of "conscience and war" is the idea that even in times of conflict, we should still stay true to our own moral code. This means that we should try to fight war in a way that is just and fair, and that we should try to avoid causing unnecessary suffering. Even though soldiers may be fighting against each other, they should still respect the other side and not cause any more harm or destruction than is necessary.
