Central American Spanish
Okay kiddo, so you know how we have different ways of talking in English depending on where we live? Like how some people say "y'all" in the Southern United States? Well, the same thing happens in Spanish too!
Central American Spanish is the way people in places like Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador talk. There are a few things that make it different from other types of Spanish, like the way they pronounce words and the words they use for certain things.
For example, in Central America, instead of saying "usted" (which means "you" in formal Spanish), they might say "vos" instead. And instead of saying "sí" (which means "yes"), they might say "pues" or "sí, pues."
Central American Spanish also has some slang words that you wouldn't hear in other parts of the Spanish-speaking world. For instance, they might say "chamba" instead of "trabajo" (which means "job" in English). They might also say "chévere" instead of "bueno" (which means "good" in English).
