The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is like a big detective agency. The CIA tries to figure out what is happening in other countries around the world. They do this using information from newspapers, radio and TV shows, telephone conversations, and satellite photos. They also have people working for them who come from other countries and report back with information from inside those countries. All of this information helps the CIA learn about what is happening around the world so that the United States government can make better decisions about what to do.
