Cephalometry is like taking a special picture of your head to see if your teeth and jaw are growing and fitting together properly. It's like when you go to the dentist and they take a picture of your teeth to make sure everything is okay. But instead of just looking at your teeth, cephalometry takes a picture of your whole head so the dentist or orthodontist can see how your teeth fit with the rest of your head. This picture shows things like the size and position of your teeth, how your upper and lower jaw are lined up, and if there are any problems with how you are chewing or swallowing. And just like how you have to sit still when the dentist takes a picture of your teeth, when you have cephalometry done, you have to stay very still so the picture comes out clear and shows everything the dentist needs to see.
