ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Change request

Okay, let's say you and your friends are building a sandcastle at the beach. You initially made a plan to build a normal castle with four towers and a moat around it. But as you start building it, you realize that you want to add a drawbridge to make it even cooler.

So you tell your friends that you want to change the plan and add a drawbridge. This is called a change request. It means you want to change something that you agreed on before.

Now, your friends might say "Why do you want to add a drawbridge? We like the castle the way it is." This is just like the people who approved the original plan for your project. They might ask you questions about why you want to change the plan, how much it will cost, and if it will take more time to finish.

If the change request is allowed, you can start building the drawbridge. But if it's not allowed, you have to stick with the original plan and leave out the drawbridge.

So, a change request is just like asking to change something in a plan or project that was already agreed upon, and it can either be accepted or denied based on certain criteria.
