Chantek

Chantek was a very special orangutan who was born in the woods in Borneo, which is a really big island in Asia. He had an amazing talent for learning and he was taught many things like sign language and how to communicate with his human caregivers. Chantek was also really good at making tools to help himself, like using a stick to clean himself or to reach food, just like you might use a spoon or fork at dinner. Chantek was also very curious and loved to explore his environment, which means he liked to look around and find new things to see and learn. Even though Chantek was very smart, he still needed help and care from his human friends to live a happy life.
