Char siu

Okay, so you know how sometimes we eat meat, right? And we like to cook it in different ways to make it taste really yummy. Well, char siu is a special way of cooking meat that comes from China.

Basically, what we do is we take a big piece of pork and we marinate it. That means we soak it in a special sauce that has things like hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, and spices in it. We let the pork sit in the sauce for a while so it can soak up all the flavors.

After the pork has marinated for a while, we cook it in a special way. We use a big oven called a rotisserie oven, which slowly turns the pork so it cooks evenly on all sides. As it cooks, we use a special brush to brush more of the marinade sauce onto the pork several times. This helps make it even more delicious and gives it a nice shiny glaze.

When the pork is all cooked, it comes out looking really delicious and smelling amazing. It has a sweet and savory flavor and it's really tender and juicy. People like to eat char siu on its own as a main dish or use it in other dishes like fried rice or ramen noodle soup. Yum!
