why the sky is blue

The sky is blue because of the way sunlight interacts with particles in the Earth's atmosphere. All sunlight is made up of different colors. When sunlight crosses through the atmosphere, it is scattered in all directions. Blue light is scattered more than other colors, so that is what our eyes see when we look up in the sky.
