A chariot is a type of vehicle that was used a long time ago in ancient civilizations like Rome and Egypt. It is kind of like a carriage, but instead of having horses or other animals pull it, it has two or four wheels and is pulled by horses or other animals that are attached to it.
Chariots were used for many different things, like for transportation and for fighting in battles. They were often built very intricately and were decorated with lots of different designs and symbols to make them unique and show off the status of the person riding in them.
Chariots were often used for racing as well. People would ride them and compete against each other in races, just like how we have races with cars or bicycles now.
Even though chariots aren't used anymore, they were an important part of history and helped to shape the way people lived and worked thousands of years ago.
