ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Chartered Engineer

A chartered engineer is like a grown-up who has a very important job making sure that things are built the right way and that they work properly. It's sort of like being a superhero for buildings and machines!

To become a chartered engineer, you have to study and go to school for a really long time. They learn lots of things about how to design and build all kinds of cool stuff like bridges, airplanes, buildings, and machines.

But that's not all! Chartered engineers also have to take tests to make sure they really know what they're doing. Like when you have a spelling test at school to show you know how to spell really hard words, they have tests to show they know how to build really cool things.

Once they become a chartered engineer, they get a special title that lets everyone know they're really good at their job. It's like being part of a club where everyone knows how important your job is.

So if you ever need a really important job done well, you'll know to look for a chartered engineer!
