Cheerleading

Cheerleading is when a group of people, usually girls but sometimes boys too, get together to cheer on a sports team. They wear special outfits called uniforms and they organize themselves into different groups.

There are usually three types of cheerleaders:

1. Flyers: These are the people who get thrown up into the air and do crazy flips and spins. They are usually the smallest and lightest members of the group.

2. Bases: These are the people who lift up the flyers and hold them in the air. They need to be strong and able to lift heavy weights.

3. Spotters: These are the people who help make sure that the flyers don't fall when they're doing their flips and spins. They stand around the edges of the group and make sure that everyone is safe.

Cheerleaders usually perform at sports events like football and basketball games. They do things like making noise, shouting out cheers and chants, and doing dance routines. They try to get the crowd excited and to show support for their team.

Sometimes, cheerleading can be a competitive sport too. Cheerleaders participate in competitions where they get judged on how well they perform their routines. They can win awards and prizes, just like athletes in other sports.
