Chemical Weapons Convention

The Chemical Weapons Convention is like a set of rules that countries all around the world agreed to follow. It says that no one should use dangerous chemicals, called chemical weapons, as a way to fight in a war or to hurt others.

These chemicals are so bad because they can cause a lot of harm to both people and the environment. They can hurt your body or make you very sick, and even cause problems for future generations.

Under the convention, countries are not allowed to produce or keep these chemicals because they are too dangerous. Instead, they agreed to work together to get rid of any chemical weapons that exist and to help each other if someone has an accident with chemicals.
