ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Chemical peel

Okay kiddo, so a chemical peel is like getting really good scrubbing bubbles for your skin, but with chemicals. It's like giving your skin a super deep clean, kind of like how you clean your toys but for your face.

So, you know how your skin has different layers? Well, sometimes there are dead skin cells that stick around on the top layer of your skin and can clog your pores or make your skin look dull. When you get a chemical peel, a special solution is put on your face that removes those dead skin cells.

Depending on how deep the peel is, the solution might feel like a tingly or burning sensation. But, just like how when you put a band-aid on a cut and it hurts for a tiny bit but then feels better, your skin will feel better after the peel too.

After the peel, your skin might look a little red and feel a bit sore for a few days, but in a week or so your skin will look so much brighter and smoother.

Does that make sense, kiddo?
