Cheongju (wine)

Cheongju is a type of alcohol that is made from grains, like rice or barley, and is very popular in Korea. It's kind of like beer or wine, but it has its own special taste and texture.

To make cheongju, first you need to soak the grains in water and let them sit for a while. Then, you cook them to release their sugars and enzymes. After that, you add a special type of yeast called nuruk, which helps to ferment the mixture and turn the sugar into alcohol.

When all of that is done, you strain the liquid through a cloth to remove any solid bits and let it age for a little while. This process helps to give cheongju its unique flavor and aroma.

Some people like to drink cheongju straight up, while others mix it with other liquids to make cocktails. Either way, it's a fun and interesting type of alcohol that many people enjoy. Just remember, as with any alcoholic beverage, moderation is key!
