Chicago race riot of 1919

The Chicago Race Riot of 1919 was a violent conflict between people of different races that happened in Chicago, Illinois. It was sparked by an incident at the beaches of Lake Michigan, where a group of African Americans were asked to leave by a group of white people. This led to an angry confrontation, and then a fight between the two groups. As the news of the fight spread, more people joined in on both sides. The violence eventually spread across the city. People from both white and African American communities were hurt or killed in the violence. This race riot lasted for several days, and in the end more than thirty people had been killed and hundreds were injured. The Chicago Race Riot of 1919 was one of the worst race-related riots in United States history, and it left deep scars in the city.
