ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Children of Moses

Okay, so let's imagine a big family with a very important man named Moses. Moses was chosen by God to lead his people, the Israelites, out of Egypt and into a new land called Canaan. Moses had two sons named Gershom and Eliezer.

Gershom was the older brother and his name meant "foreigner" because he was born in a foreign land. Eliezer was the younger brother and his name meant "God is my help." Moses loved his sons very much and taught them everything he knew about God and leading his people.

Whenever Moses had to go speak with God or lead the people, Gershom and Eliezer would stay with their mom or other family members. They probably played and helped out with chores around the camp or wherever they were staying.

Even though Gershom and Eliezer weren't the ones leading the Israelites like their dad, they still played an important role as part of Moses' family. They were loved and cared for by their parents and their people.

And that's basically it, hope that helps!
