Chilenization

Chilenization is when the government of Chile wants everyone who lives there to be more like them. They want people to speak Spanish, eat Chilean food, and follow Chilean laws. This happened a long time ago when Chile became a big country in South America. They wanted to make sure that everyone who lived there knew how to be Chilean. They wanted them to be proud of their country and be good citizens. Sometimes it meant that people who were not from Chile had to change the way they lived. This can be good because everyone who lives in Chile can feel like they are part of the same big family. But it can also be bad if people are not treated fairly or if they lose their own culture and identity.
