Choriovitelline placenta

Okay kiddo, so let's talk about babies in the tummy of their mommy. Inside the tummy of mommy, the baby grows and gets all its food and oxygen from mommy, just like how you get food and water from your mommy when you are growing up.

Now, to help the baby get food and oxygen from mommy, a special tissue called the placenta is there. Placenta is like a doctor, it gives everything the baby needs, like oxygen and food, and it also gets rid of the bad stuff from the baby that mommy's body can remove.

In some animals like birds, dogs, cats, there is another kind of placenta called the choriovitelline placenta. It's a special type of placenta where the baby gets food and oxygen from mommy using two different parts of the placenta named chorion and yolk sac.

Choriovitelline placenta is unique as it's not just one tissue like in humans, but two different tissues that work together. Chorion is like a sponge that absorbs the good stuff from mommy's blood and gives it to the baby. The yolk sac is like a bag that stores the baby's food and gives it to the baby when he needs it. So, together they help the baby grow healthily.

Just like you love your mommy for taking care of you and always providing you with everything you need, the choriovitelline placenta takes care of the baby and makes sure that the baby is doing okay inside mommy's tummy.
