Christian views on slavery

Christian views on slavery are complex. In general, Christians believe that every person should be treated with dignity and respect, and slavery goes against this belief. Some Christian groups have rejected slavery and think that it's wrong, while others have allowed their members to take part in the practice of owning and trading slaves in certain situations. Many believe that just because something is allowed doesn't mean that it's the best choice, and they condemn any form of mistreatment of slaves. They also believe that slavery is wrong, and any situation in which it is allowed should only be there for the protection of the enslaved person.
