ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Christological argument

The christological argument is a way of saying that Jesus must be God’s son because he did things only God can do, like perform miracles and rise from the dead. This argument says that if Jesus did these things, it means he is divine just like God.

Think of it like this: Imagine you see a car that is really fast, has wheels made of gold, and can fly into the sky. You would think the car must be special because it can do things other cars can't do. Similarly, Jesus is like a special person who is different from other people because he can do things only God can do.

The christological argument also says that if Jesus is God's son, then we can trust him and follow his teachings. It’s like if your parents tell you to do something, you trust them because they love you and want what's best for you. Similarly, we can trust Jesus because he is God’s son, and we believe that God loves us and wants what’s best for us too.

So, the christological argument is basically saying that because Jesus can do things only God can do and because he is God’s son, we should believe in him and follow his teachings.
