ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Chromoplast

Chromoplasts are like little coloring book pages in a plant's cells. They contain pigments, which are like the markers or crayons that people use to color in the pictures. Different pigments give the chromoplasts different colors, just like using different markers or crayons can make a picture look different.

These chromoplasts can be found in many parts of the plant, but their most well-known role is in giving fruits and flowers their color. For example, the red color in strawberries comes from the pigments inside the chromoplasts.

So basically, chromoplasts are special little "color factories" inside plants that give them their vibrant colors and help make them look beautiful!
