ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Chute (gravity)

Okay kiddo, have you ever gone down a slide or a big hill on something like a sled or a tube? When you do that, you're moving down with gravity, which means you're being pulled downwards towards the ground.

Now, imagine if instead of a slide or a hill, there was a big long tube that went straight down. You could climb in, and gravity would pull you downwards through the tube. That tube is what we call a chute.

Chutes can be used for all sorts of things, like moving things from one level to another. A lot of factories use chutes to move materials or products from a higher level to a lower level without having to use stairs or an elevator.

So, in simpler terms, a chute is like a big slide where gravity pulls things or people down through it.
