Cigarette filter

When you smoke a cigarette, the smoke goes into your mouth and lungs. But before that, it passes through something called a filter. This filter is like a tiny sponge that is in the end of the cigarette.

The filter is made of something called cellulose acetate. This is a material that is soft and squishy like cotton candy. When you inhale the smoke, it moves through the filter and some of the harmful chemicals and tar that are in the smoke get stuck in the filter. This can be good because it means that those harmful things don't go into your body.

But the bad news is that this filter is not perfect and it can't catch everything. So, even though you might think that smoking a cigarette with a filter is better for you, it is still really bad for your health!
