Cinquefoil knot

Have you ever tried tying a knot in a rope or string? The cinquefoil knot is a special knot that looks like a pretty flower with five petals.

To make a cinquefoil knot you need a piece of rope or string. First, make a loop with one end of the rope. You need to make sure this loop is big enough to tie the whole knot through.

Next, take the end of the rope and thread it through the loop you made. Then, keeping the loop slack, make a smaller loop with the end of the rope you just threaded through.

Now comes the trickiest part. You need to take the end of the rope and thread it through the big loop from behind. Then, thread it through the small loop you made earlier from the front.

Pull both ends of the rope to tighten the knot. You will now see that the knot looks like a flower with five petals. Each of the petals is made from a loop of rope.
