ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Circuit minimization

Circuit minimization is when we take a big and complicated bunch of stuff and make it smaller and simpler.

Imagine you have a big toy box filled with all kinds of toys. Now, if you want to tidy up your room, you will have to take out some toys from the toy box and put them away in your shelf. This is exactly what happens in circuit minimization.

A circuit is like a toy box filled with different parts that work together to do something. It could be a toy car, a music player or even a computer. But sometimes the circuit is made up of too many parts and it becomes really big and expensive.

To make things simpler, we try to take away some of the extra parts of the circuit that are not needed. It's like taking out those toys that you don't play with anymore and putting them away in a box. By doing this, we make the circuit smaller and less expensive.

Circuit minimization is really important because it helps us save time, money and resources. Just like tidying up your room helps you find your favorite toys quickly, circuit minimization helps computer engineers to build better circuits faster and with less cost.
