Citizenship of Russia

Russia has what is called "citizenship" - this means that a person who "belongs" to Russia has certain rights and duties that everyone else in the country has. When you become a citizen of Russia, you get certain rights, such as the right to vote, freedom of speech, travel, work, and access to public services. You also have duties, such as the responsibility to obey the laws of the country and help the government. To become a citizen of Russia, you must have lived there for a certain amount of time, have a valid passport, and speak Russian.
