Citrus

Citrus is a group of fruits that are round-ish, and usually have a tough skin on the outside that you have to peel off before you can eat them. Some of the most common citrus fruits are oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruits.

Inside the fruit, you'll find little juice sacs that burst in your mouth with a really sour taste (like when you suck on a lemon), but some varieties are also sweet (like an orange).

Citrus fruits grow in warm and sunny places because they need a lot of sunlight to grow properly. They're also really healthy because they're packed with vitamins, especially Vitamin C which can help you fight off sickness.

A fun fact to remember is that there's a lot of citrus fruits in our food and drinks. Have you ever had lemonade or orange juice? Yep, those are both made from citrus fruits. So next time you see an orange or lemon in a grocery store or on a tree, remember how good they are for you and how they can make your favorite foods and drinks even tastier!
