City manager

Okay kiddo, so you know how every city has people who work for them to make sure everything runs smoothly? Well, the person in charge of those people and making sure everything gets done is called the city manager!

Think of the city like a big puzzle with lots of moving pieces. Some people work on making sure that the streets are clean, others make sure that the water is safe to drink, and others work on making sure that the fire department is ready to help if there's an emergency.

The city manager is like the boss of all the people working on these things. They make sure everyone is doing their job properly, that everyone has the resources they need to do their job, and that everyone is working towards the same goal of making the city a better place to live.

They also work with the mayor and city council to come up with plans for the future of the city. They might talk about building new parks or roads, or making improvements to the schools. Then the city manager makes sure that these plans get carried out properly.

Sometimes the city manager has to make tough decisions. They have to decide what's best for the city and make sure that everyone is treated fairly. But overall, their job is to make sure that the city runs smoothly and that everyone who lives there is happy and safe.
