Classical dressage is like playing dress-up with horses!
Just like when you dress up for a special occasion, a horse needs to be trained and "dressed up" to perform fancy moves.
But instead of wearing costumes, horses learn fancy movements called "dressage" that make them look elegant and graceful.
These movements rely on the horse being very fit and strong, so they are trained to walk, trot, canter, and even jump in special ways that make them look like they are dancing.
A rider, called a "dressage rider," also learns these fancy moves and works with the horse to perform them.
The end result is a beautiful and harmonious dance between horse and rider!
