Climate resilience

Climate resilience is what helps us be better prepared for when the climate changes or has extreme weather. It means that people - like communities, companies, and governments - can plan ahead, build in ways that can handle changes in climate, and be ready to respond to extreme weather events. For example, when the weather suddenly changes and there is a lot of rain, people who are prepared for climate resilience can take steps to protect their homes and neighborhoods from flooding. It also means that when there are very hot days, people can plan and build things in a way that keeps them cool and safe. Being climate resilient helps us be ready for the future - even if we don't know exactly what will happen.
