ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Clinical pastoral education

Okay kiddo, do you know what a pastor is? They are like a teacher or helper for people who believe in God. Clinical pastoral education is like going to school to become a really good pastor.

But instead of learning only from books, you'll learn how to help people who are in the hospital or facing tough times. You'll practice talking to them, listening to them, and understanding how to help them feel better.

It's kind of like playing with dolls. You pretend to be a pastor and talk to your dolls like they are your friends. Then you learn how to be a better pastor by talking to real people who are going through hard times.

And once you finish your training, you'll be better prepared to help people who are hurting or going through tough times feel more comfortable and cared for.
