ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Clipper

A clipper is like a tool that helps you cut your nails. But instead of cutting nails, it helps to cut out parts of a sound or electrical signal. Imagine you have a piece of paper with lines on it, and you want to cut out one of the lines. A clipper is like a little scissors that only cuts the part of the line that is above a certain point on the paper. In the same way, when a signal goes through a clipper, it cuts out the parts of the signal that are above a certain level. This can help make the sound or signal louder and have more energy, but it can also make it sound distorted or like it has a bad haircut. So, just like with nail clippers, you have to be careful and use the clipper in the right way to get the desired result.
