Coat of arms of Latvia

Do you know what a coat of arms is? It's like a special badge or symbol that represents a person, group, or country.

The coat of arms of Latvia is a very special badge that represents the country of Latvia! It has a lot of different symbols that all mean something important.

The very top of the coat of arms has a really strong-looking lion with a sword in its paw. This lion represents strength and bravery, just like how Latvia wants to be a strong and brave country.

Underneath the lion is a really shiny, golden sun with eight rays coming out of it. The sun is like a big ball of light and warmth, and the eight rays represent the eight different regions of Latvia. These regions are all important parts of the country, and together they make up the whole place.

On either side of the sun are two wavy lines, which represent two really important bodies of water in Latvia: the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga. These are both really big bodies of water that Latvia is very close to.

Finally, at the bottom of the coat of arms, there are some green leaves. These represent the forests and plants that grow in Latvia. Latvia has lots of trees and forests, and they are an important part of the country's natural beauty.

All of these symbols together make up the coat of arms of Latvia, and they help people understand what Latvia is all about.
