Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973

The code of criminal procedure is a set of rules that grown-ups use to make sure that people who break the rules or laws are punished. Just like how your teacher has rules for the class, our country has rules for the whole country.

When someone does something that they shouldn't, for example, stealing or hurting someone, they are called a criminal. The code of criminal procedure is a set of instructions that the police and courts adopt to make sure that the criminal is treated fairly while they are investigated and put on trial.

The code of criminal procedure has different steps that the police and courts follow. First, the police investigate the crime to gather evidence; then, they arrest the person who has committed the crime. Once the person is arrested, they are taken to court, where they can tell their side of the story.

If the court finds that the person broke the rules, they will be punished by going to jail, paying a fine or doing community service. However, if the court decides that the person did not break the rules, they will be allowed to go free.

So, the code of criminal procedure is like a set of directions that grown-ups use to make sure that criminals are punished and innocent people are not punished.
