Coefficient of haze

Imagine you have a pair of glasses. Sometimes, when you wear them, it's hard to see clearly because there is a foggy or hazy feeling. The coefficient of haze is a way of measuring this haziness. Scientists use a special machine to shine a light through the glasses and measure how much of the light gets blocked or scattered by the haze. The higher the coefficient of haze, the hazier the glasses are, and the harder it is to see through them.
