Coesite is a very special kind of rock that forms when things get squished really hard and fast. You know how when you squeeze play dough it gets smaller and harder? Well, coesite rocks are made when the earth squeezes certain kinds of minerals super tight and super fast. It's kind of like when you make a big snowball really fast - the snow gets really hard and compacted.
Coesite rocks are special because they only form when the earth is under a lot of pressure. That's why they're really rare and valuable to scientists who study rocks. They can tell us a lot about how the earth changes over time, like if there was a huge impact from a meteor or if there were really strong earthquakes! So even though coesite rocks look like pretty ordinary rocks, they're actually really remarkable because of how they were formed.
