Stishovite

Stishovite is like a super special rock that is made up of a mineral called silica. It's super strong and can withstand really high pressures and temperatures.

It's formed deep in the earth's crust, where there's a lot of pressure pushing down on everything. When rocks with silica in them get pushed down really hard, the silica gets squeezed and smashed together until it forms stishovite.

The coolest thing about stishovite is its ability to change its shape when it's under pressure. It's like a superhero that can withstand anything! Scientists study stishovite to learn more about how rocks are formed and what the earth is like deep down inside.
