Colatitude is like playing a game of hide-and-seek where you need to tell your friend where to find you. But instead of saying "I'm hiding behind the tree," you say something like, "I'm hiding 30 degrees from the top of the tree." The angle you measure from the top of the tree to where you're hiding is called colatitude. It's a way to describe how far something is from the top of a globe or sphere. So, if you were standing at the North Pole of the earth, your colatitude would be 90 degrees because you're as far away from the equator as you can possibly be. On the other hand, if you were standing on the equator, your colatitude would be 0 degrees because you're right in the middle, and there's no distance to measure from the top.
