ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Collective bargaining

Collective bargaining is when a group of people come together to negotiate with their boss. It's like a big game of back and forth. The people in the group tell the boss what they want, like higher wages or better benefits, and the boss usually proposes something different. It's up to the group to keep on negotiating until they either agree to something or can't agree. Usually, the group of people have a union that represents them and helps them work out the details with the boss. Collective bargaining is a way for people to make sure that their voices are heard and that their needs are taken into consideration.
