Colonial empire

Colonial empire is when some countries take over other countries. When a country takes over another country, it means that the first country is now in charge, and the second country has to do what the first country says. Countries would do this to try and make their country bigger and more powerful. So for example, if Country A wanted to become a bigger and more powerful country, it might take over Country B and start to give orders to Country B. Usually the people in Country B would not have a choice but to follow the rules of Country A.
