ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Colossal carbon tube

A colossal carbon tube is a really big, long and thick tube made of a material called carbon. Carbon is a very strong material which can be made into different shapes like tubes, sheets or rods.

Imagine you have a long pencil which is really strong and hard to break, now think of that pencil but as big as a building, and that's what a colossal carbon tube is!

These tubes are often used in buildings, planes, and even rockets because they are very strong and lightweight. They can be as long as 100 meters and as thick as 2 meters.

So just like how you use a pencil to write and draw, colossal carbon tubes are used to make really big things that need to be strong and hold a lot of weight without being too heavy.
