Command and control (military)

Command and control in the military is like playing a game of pretend with your friends, but one person gets to be the leader and tell everyone else what to do.

In the military, there are people who are in charge, called commanders. They give orders to other people in the military, who then carry out those orders.

Think of it like a game of pretend where you and your friends are playing an army game, and one person gets to be the leader. The leader tells everyone what to do, like where to go and what to do once they get there.

Commanders use special technology, like radios and computers, to talk to the people carrying out their orders.

The people carrying out the orders have to listen carefully and do exactly what the commander tells them to do, just like how you have to follow the rules of the pretend army game.

This is important in the military because it helps everyone work together and accomplish their goal of keeping people safe.
